SUITE LIFE: STAY IN THE “MIDWEST WHITE HOUSE” FOR 10K PER NIGHT
Some hotels have what they call a Presidential Suite. And you, only wanting what’s worthy of presidents, would like to know just how many presidents have actually stayed there. In most cases, the term has become a figure of speech and the answer is sadly, none. But there’s one suite with such a impressive presidential past that its alias is the “Midwest White House.” Yes, that should do just fine. Welcome to the Conrad Hilton Suite at the Hilton Chicago – calling it the presidential suite would be way too obvious.
Spanning two top floors, the Conrad Hilton Suite has hosted every president since Ronald Reagan, and after a recent $1.8 million renovation, is now ready to welcome you, should you be able to afford the $10,000 per night price tag that is.
Beautifully modernized, the suite maintains its historic and timeless luxury as is apparent in the massive grand salon which features a fireplace and dining room with seating for up to 14 guests. Then there’s the library with pool table and bar, private kitchen, three bedrooms each with full bathrooms, and last but not least, a personal helipad — you know, just in case.
From your perch you’ll be able to survey the city below, including sweeping views of Grant Park, Lake Michigan and Michigan Avenue.
Now all that’s left for you to do is find 14 friends to invite to dinner.
FOR THE REST OF US
If $10,000 per night isn’t quite in your budget, don’t worry, rooms at the Chicago Hilton can be booked for around $100 per night (of course, keep in mind that prices fluctuate based on date and time of booking — check available rates here). If the Conrad Hilton Suite has given you a taste for the finer things in life but you still don’t want to break the bank, upgrade to a two-room Junior Suite which features a king bed and views of Lake Michigan (pictured above).
Sweeten The Deal: To save even more (and save up for a stay in the Conrad Hilton Suite) book your room in conjunction with the Chicago Hilton’s Just Chillin’ package which is available now through April 20, 2014. With the Just Chillin package you’ll receive complimentary WiFi, parking, access to the pool and gym and 20% off room service and dinning at the hotel’s three restaurants.
