[VLOG] A DAY IN THE FRENCH ALPS: CHAMONIX AND THE MER DE GLACE GLACIER
Located amongst the towering French Alps, Chamonix has been one of France’s most popular mountain towns for decades. In fact, Chamonix hosted the first ever Olympic Winter Games in 1924. Chamonix is also home to one of the world’s largest glaciers, the Mer de Glace. Easily accessed by a small train from Chamonix’s city center, the Mer de Glace, or “sea of ice” in English, is an incredible site.
I recently visited Chamonix and the Mer de Glace on a beautiful snowy day, and the experience now ranks as one of my favorite travel memories. To learn more about Chamonix, Mer de Glace and the Montenvers train (the train used to access the glacier) just sit back, relax and watch the short video below.
