CARPORN: THE NEW FILSON AEV JEEP WRANGLER
There are certain cars that make you want to pack a bag and hit the road. These cars aren’t just capable of taking you on adventures like most cars, they were built for it. Consider them a tool, a key, that opens doors to living an active and boundless life.
Following this vision, Filson, the iconic purveyors of quality outdoor apparel and accessories made in America since 1897, and AEV (American Expedition Vehicles), experts in turning mass-market tucks into limited-edition, bad ass terrain warriors, have come together to create the Filson Edition AEV Wrangler.
This marks the second time that the two companies have teamed up to create the ultimate adventure vehicle. Back in 2013, it was the Filson Brute Double Cab, a super customized Jeep Wrangler turned pick up truck that cost a cool $130,000 (you can see more of the Brute Double Cab in my article, 10 Cars I Want To Explore The World In). Now it’s the Filson Edition AEV Wrangler, which is available in two door and four door models, that has adventurers with an eye for style weak in the knees.
The Jeep has been modified by AEV with a 3-1/2” DualSport SC suspension (which adds lift height and increases off-road and on-road performance and handling), 35” BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain KM2 tires, a heat reduction hood (which provides fresh air intake to keep everything cool under the hood), a 9,500lbs. WARN winch (to pull yourself out of tricky situations) and IPF 901 off-road lights. If that’s not enough, there are plenty of other modifications available, like upgrading to a 5.7L or 6.4L HEMI V8 engine.
And Filson’s contribution is, of course, the style. The vehicle is custom painted in Filson hunter green and the seats are made using two tone leather. Every Filson AEV Wrangler also comes with a customized Filson Medium Duffle and Original Briefcase, just to ensure you have the best looking and toughest luggage to go with the best looking an toughest car.
Price: $70,400-$100,300 depending on options
